Pioneering Precision Medicine in Mental Health 

Nikolaos Mellios is the Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Circular Genomics (Scale Up Cohort 8), a pioneering biotech company in precision psychiatric and neurological medicine, focused on using circular RNA biomarkers to enhance mental health diagnostics and treatment. 

With over 20 years of experience in RNA biology and neurological disease research, Nikolaos has become a leading expert in circRNA neuroscience. His academic journey includes significant roles as a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a tenure as an Associate Professor at the University of New Mexico’s Department of Neurosciences. In addition to his successful career, Nikolaos holds a PhD in Neuroscience from UMass Chan Medical School and a medical degree from the University of Athens. Through his work at Circular Genomics, Nikolaos is advancing the frontier of precision medicine in mental health, bringing data-driven solutions to psychiatric and neurological care.
