Twenty Years Building Toward the Right Problem
Spiros Xanthos, born in Thessaloniki, did his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before moving into infrastructure software full time. His first company, Pattern Insight, built a log analytics product acquired by VMware. He then co-founded Omnition, where he helped create OpenTelemetry — now the industry standard for telemetry collection — before the company was acquired by Splunk. As SVP and General Manager of Splunk's Observability business, he ran one of the most widely used platforms for monitoring complex software systems.
The job came with a real cost: at Splunk, Spiros watched his site reliability engineers absorb the constant strain of on-call work, and over a six-month stretch, his team lost 90% of them to burnout. In 2024, Spiros co-founded Resolve AI. Its AI agents catch the problem, figure out the cause, and resolve it, often before an engineer even has to wake up, cutting incident resolution time by more than 70% and saving up to 20 hours per engineer per week.
To date, Resolve has raised more than $190 million, including a $125 million Series A in February 2026 and a $40 million extension in April at a $1.5 billion valuation, and engineering teams at Coinbase, DoorDash, MSCI, Salesforce, and Zscaler now rely on Resolve AI to manage their production environments.
Selected to join the global Endeavor Network at Endeavor's International Selection Panel in San Francisco in May 2026, Spiros brings two decades of infrastructure experience and a clear thesis: that AI should free engineers from keeping systems alive, so they can spend their time building. Spiros has spoken about that journey on The Outliers Podcast.
