Chris Evdaimon is an experienced investor and entrepreneur with two decades in early-stage investments and company building. Currently on the Private Companies team at Baillie Gifford in the Bay Area, Chris has a track record of backing transformative companies across sectors, from industrial automation to ed tech. His approach centers on partnering with visionary founders and supporting technologies that hold potential for industry shifts.
Before Baillie Gifford, Chris was a Partner at Sinovation Ventures, working first in Beijing and later in Silicon Valley. In China, he contributed to early rounds for companies like Zhihu and Wandoujia (acquired by Alibaba). Moving to Silicon Valley, he established Sinovation’s U.S. operations, focusing on companies in industrial automation and robotics, working closely with startups such as Fictiv and Compology.
Earlier, Chris served as CEO of ICDL Asia, successfully expanding its operations across 25 Asian countries. His entrepreneurial background also includes co-founding and managing ECDL Hellas in Athens. Chris earned his MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London as well as an MBA from Insead. With global experience and a focus on innovation, Chris continues to drive success for both entrepreneurs and investors.
