Katerina is a Strategic Partnerships and Business Development Executive with 13+ years of experience in building and scaling businesses globally across sectors with a focus on marketplaces and B2B SaaS.

She is an expert at translating visions into reality with a proven track record of helping companies expand into new markets and grow revenue through scalable growth strategies and strategic partnerships. Her consulting background has equipped her with the frameworks and skillset to solve problems and deal with challenges and opportunities in fastchanging, complex, and culturally diverse environments.

As a key member of North America’s Alibaba Leadership team, Katerina currently leads the international expansion of Alibaba.com, developing and executing the strategic roadmap for the B2B marketplace in the US from inception to multi-billion-dollar GMV through partnerships, investments, and ecosystem development. This has led to the transformation of the business from a listings' directory to the largest global B2B trading platform, growing revenue 4x in 4 years. Her early involvement in the business (employee #3 in the US) allowed her to make a strong impact on the business with a robust ecosystem of partners that drove 90%+ of the revenue in North America.

Prior to joining Alibaba, Katerina worked for Deloitte’s Strategy Consulting practice, helping Fortune 500 companies transform their strategy and business models. She also worked with Thomson Reuters as part of their leadership development program relocating to a different country and role every 6 months; and spent three months in Mumbai working with 2 NGOs focused on children and women’s rights in rural slums.

Katerina is an active angel investor (5 Seed to Series A companies), startup mentor and advisor. She holds an MSc degree in Behavioral Economics from London School of Economics and a BSc degree in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business. She has lived and worked in over 10 countries in 5 continents, and in her free time she loves travelling and scuba diving. She was born and raised in Crete and today you will find her somewhere between NY and China.
