OpenAI for Greece: Applications Now Open for the Greek AI Accelerator

Following the official launch of OpenAI for Greece - a strategic partnership between OpenAI, the Hellenic Government, and Endeavor Greece - applications are now open for the Greek AI Startup Accelerator, a three-month program led by Endeavor Greece to support early-stage founders developing AI-native solutions with the ambition and potential to scale globally.

AI is one of the most transformative technologies of our time - with the potential to accelerate innovation, expand access to education, and drive sustainable economic growth.

Greece is embracing this opportunity head-on. Over the past year, the number of weekly active ChatGPT users in Greece has increased sevenfold, while the Government has developed a National Blueprint for AI that spans innovation and entrepreneurship, education and research, and the integration of AI into public sector services.

This partnership establishes Greece as one of the first countries globally to collaborate with OpenAI on such a comprehensive national initiative - combining education, innovation, and entrepreneurship to ensure that AI development happens responsibly and inclusively.

The Greek AI Startup Accelerator

As part of this initiative, Endeavor Greece is proud to launch the Greek AI Startup Accelerator - a three-month program developed in collaboration with OpenAI and the Greek Government to equip Greek founders with the tools, mentorship, and global network to scale responsibly with AI.

The Accelerator aims to support AI-first founders who are building innovative, impactful products and want to pilot their ideas locally while scaling globally. It’s a unique opportunity for ambitious Greek teams to gain access to the tools, mentorship, and network needed to compete at a global level - right from Greece.

The program will prioritize startups developing AI solutions in areas that align with national priorities across verticals. By bridging global expertise and local opportunity, the Accelerator seeks to create a new generation of founders who will shape Greece’s role in the global AI landscape.

What the Program Offers

Selected startups will benefit from a powerful combination of technology access, mentorship, and international visibility:

Access to OpenAI Technology

Each participating startup will receive $20,000 in OpenAI API credits, personalized technical mentorship, and exclusive group sessions with OpenAI engineers. 

AI Safety & Compliance Support

With AI regulation rapidly evolving, the program offers dedicated workshops on the EU AI Act, GDPR alignment, and safety-by-design practices, helping founders build responsibly from day one.

Global Exposure & Investor Access

The top-performing founders will travel to San Francisco for a curated visit to OpenAI Headquarters, where they’ll connect with leading investors, partners, and fellow innovators shaping the future of AI. Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their startups at major global events like Slush, as well as Greece’s flagship innovation gatherings such as Panathēnea.

Endeavor Network & Mentorship

Founders will gain direct access to the Endeavor Network - connecting them with successful entrepreneurs, investors, and global mentors. Each startup will receive three dedicated mentorships and have the exclusive opportunity to join roundtables and peer-learning sessions with other AI founders.

Together, these resources are designed to accelerate both technical progress and business growth, setting a strong foundation for the next generation of world-class Greek companies.

Who Can Apply

The Accelerator is open to AI-first startups that are:

• Founded after 2022

• Pre-seed to Series A, with a working MVP or prototype (early users or pilots preferred). Applications from startups at other stages of maturity will also be considered if they show strong AI focus and ties to Greece’s ecosystem.

• Led by Greek founders or have a registered entity or 20% of their team based in Greece

• Building AI-native applications.
