Enhancing the Travel Experience

Alexandros is the Co-founder and CEO of Welcome Pickups, a Scale Up 5th Cohort member, which is transforming the travel experience by offering user focused and seamless service from the moment travelers start planning their trip to the moment they return home. With a passion for creating memorable human experiences, Alex has positioned Welcome Pickups as a leader in delivering exceptional, tailored travel services, such as pre-booked, personalized airport transfers, sightseeing local tours, inside tips and travel guides, partnerships with hotels and businesses to ensure seamless rides for their guests, and more.

Before launching Welcome Pickups, Alex held product management roles at top Silicon Valley companies like SurveyMonkey and Upwork, where he honed his skills in scaling innovative products. He also founded Dopios, a travel startup focused on connecting travelers with locals for authentic experiences, a value he took with him in co-founding Welcome Pickups.

Alex’s journey was shaped by his academic background. He earned a Master’s in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, gaining valuable insights into business innovation. He also holds a BSc and MEng in Civil Engineering from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he developed analytical and problem-solving skills. These experiences have supported his approach to building Welcome Pickups, combining technology and customer service to improve the travel experience.
