Born in March 1980 in Athens, Greece, Georgios Savoglidis combines over 15 years technology experience in biotech and chemical engineering in the bio-renewables sector, with over 10 years business experience in various operational and customer-facing activities within his family-owned SME serving the large private sector in Greece. In 2016 after a post-doc in Systems Biology at EPFL in Lausanne, Georgios co-founded Embion Technologies, a biotech spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, commercializing a novel processing platform for transformation of agricultural and food processing side streams to value added products. Georgios is the co-inventor of Embion’s patents and holds a PhD, MSc and Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the University of Patras in Greece. Georgios identifies himself as an engineer with an entrepreneurial mindset. He loves spending his free time reading, with anything relating to technology, traveling around the world and with his family in the seaside or the mountains.
