Sokratis' journey towards founding Numan was fueled by a personal realization of the underserved nature of men's health and a desire to leverage technology for positive behavioral change and destigmatization. Prior to founding Numan, Sokratis earned his master’s of engineering in electronic engineering from the University of York and subsequently pursued a master’s of science in information processing and neural networks from King’s College London. He spent the following three years working as a business analyst for Vodafone Group, before becoming the Head of UK Operations at Qwikker, a Sequoia-funded startup. He went on to found TrustedPlaces in 2005, acquired by Yell Group in 2010. Following this acquisition, Sokratis stayed at Yell Group for a year as the Head of Social Products before lauching his next venture. In 2013 Sokratis co-founded Togethera. What is more, Sokratis has also engaged with the tech ecosystem as an angel investor, noteably being one of the early investors of Calm, the world’s first mental health unicorn.
Sokratis founded Numan in 2018 in London, with a mission and vision helping men — and all that know them — live healthier, happier lives. Since its launch, the company has helped over 400k individuals on their health journeys.
