Michael D. Chandris was born in 1951 in London. In 1975 he entered the family shipping business and was the Chairman of Chandris (England) Ltd.
From 1987 he was the Director and Co-Founder of Celebrity Cruise Line until 1997 which was sold to Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL). He is an advisor to the board of Chandris (Hellas) Inc., a Ship Management Company that specializes in the management and operation of oil tankers and chemical tankers.
He is an advisor to the board of Leathbond, a UK & European property company. Additionally, he is a Board Member of the Union of Greek Ship Owners and an Executive Board Member of Intertanko.
