Neil Rimer co-founded Index Ventures in 1996 and served as a Partner for more than 25 years, playing a seminal role in nurturing the tech ecosystem in Europe and beyond. In 2021, he stepped down as an active Partner while continuing to manage his portfolio and support the firm he helped build.
As an investor and founder, Neil is passionate about mentoring founders who possess a strong sense of purpose. He led investments in some of the world's most enduring technology companies, from early-stage bets to category-defining giants.
Born in Montreal, Neil studied at Stanford and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He spent four years with Montgomery Securities in San Francisco before joining Index Securities in 1990, the predecessor of Index Ventures.
