BIO

DESFA, the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator, owns and operates Greece's National Natural Gas System, comprising the high-pressure national transmission network and the Revithoussa LNG terminal. Founded in 2007, the company holds exclusive rights over the operation, management, and development of the system and its interconnections, in line with European and national legislation.

DESFA plays a decisive role in Greece's energy security and the diversification of supply sources across the country and the wider region. Through its transmission network, LNG facilities, and cross-border interconnections, it has established the country as an emerging energy gateway between Southeast Europe and beyond.

Guided by a commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability, DESFA is investing in the energy transition with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
